The climate in Sóller has more than 260 days of sun a year. Regardless the heat is not as high as in the rest of the island thanks to the Sierra de Tramontana Mountains.

Spring and autumn are mild, the summer is dry and hot.

For many people the best time to visit is in the spring. Cyclists, hikers and other mountain sports people feel attracted to the mild temperatures for their sporting activities rather than the hot humid climate during full summer. The flowering of the almond-trees that goes from the ends of January up to beginning of March especially attracts many tourists to the island. Don’t let the great quantity of days of sun in comparison with the rest of Europe fool you. We also have our share of rain.

The warm summer that lasts from the middle of June until middle of September is perfect for beach hungry people, families and aquatic sportsmen. Without practically any rainfall during this period and the temperatures about the 35ºC, everyone is better off in the water.

Autumn is also normally good for aquatic sportsmen. The sea temperatures are agreeable and invite you to swim. And hikers can return to spending more hours hiking due to the milder diurnal temperatures.
